Brian Rogers

Rogers is the Vice President of Professional Services and joined Polu Kai Services as the Director of Professional Services.  Prior to joining PKS Brian served as the Director of the Project Management Office for a midsize company specializing in Environmental Remediation and Information Technology.  In 2005, after 35 years of service, he retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel where his last two assignments were the Strategic Initiatives Officer for the Army National Guard Directorate of the National Guard Bureau and the Military Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Environment Safety and Occupational Health.

Brian has over 30 years of corporate executive experience in construction and environmental management, contract and project administration, personnel management, quality consulting and auditing, and program management at all levels of state and Federal government and private industry.  As the Strategic Initiatives Officer in the Army Guard he was responsible for implementing new programs and strategies throughout the 54 states and territories.  As the Military Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health (DASA-ESOH), He represented the DASA-ESOH on a regular basis at forums and policy meetings with General Officers and other Senior Executive Service members.  He also handled a contentious environmental situation on Cape Cod, Massachusetts that required direct interface on a regular basis with both the Federal and State of Massachusetts Congressional delegations and the Governor of Massachusetts resulting in a successful solution for both the Army and the communities of Cape Cod.

He started his career from humble beginnings as a cook in the Ohio Army National Guard and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant before attending Officer Candidate School and becoming commissioned in the Army Corps of Engineers.  While a member of the Guard, on the civilian side he managed several different bakery operations over the years with the last one in 1980 being a $5.5 million operation.  In 1981 he became a full time member of the service and began his career as an Engineer Officer where he served in Battalion, Group and Brigade level staff and command positions.  Throughout his career he has led by example and ensured the quality of worked performed whether producing a product or administrative documentation or performing a military mission.

A native of Ohio, Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from the University of the State of New York in 1992 and an Associate of Science in Business Management from Sinclair Community College in 1986.  He is an Active member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Army Engineer Association, the American Society for Quality, the Project Management Institute, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and the Construction Specifications Institute.  His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and many other awards and honors.
