Flagstone Repair at Arlington National Cemetery – USACE Norfolk
Polu Kai Services was awarded a Task Order on our MATOC from the Norfolk Corps of Engineers to Rebuild/Replace/Repair approximately 39,000 square feet of flagstone walkways located around Tomb of the Unknowns Amphitheater on Memorial Drive, Welcome Center, and Administration Building on Arlington National Cemetery (ANC). PKS also created ADA compliant access to the Visitor’s Center.
Working at Arlington National Cemetery as well as by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, we have to ensure that our noise level is low as well as stop work at the Changing of the Guard and whenever a new wreath is placed on the tomb. Weather is also a factor with rain and snow delays. PKS requested and received a MOD to the contract which extended the completion date to allow for delays due to inclement weather.
