Renovate Director’s Suite, Bldg. 31 – National Institutes of Health

Polu Kai Services was awarded a Task Order by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to perform renovations for their director’s suite and adjacent offices in NIH Bldg. 31C.  Renovation of the director’s suite was based on the comprehensive design documents developed by the NIH/ORF DTSB (Technical Services Branch).

General scope requirements included demolition and replacement of wall, ceiling, and floor finishes and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical equipment; abatement of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM); and installation of fire alarm systems and sprinkler upgrades. PKS also connected Bldg. 311A to the primary air supply system. Work was conducted in an occupied facility housing executive level personnel and support staff, so project staging and sensitivity to program needs were critical for this project. PKS built a new partition at 3C12/AB Offices to create temporary office space for the NIDCD Personnel.
